Speed Keto Allows Only One Meal a Day

Speed Keto Allows Only One Meal a Day: What You Should Know About This Diet

Speed Keto is a high-fat diet program that seeks to get you into a much faster fat-burning state called ketosis.

When you eat just one meal a day, fast keto combines keto with intimate fasting.

Experts say that fast keto is not imperfect in the long run, and for some people, it can be healthy.

Cato missionaries have popularized high-fat, low-carbohydrate diets as a way of life. But for most people, the ketogenic diet is limited, making it difficult to maintain.

Now, Speed Keto, an even more extreme Keto diet scene has arrived.

The new Keto twist promises to quickly tap into the body's fat-burning system by integrating the Roger-controlled version.

It's common for people to occasionally associate a ketogenic diet with fasting, usually 16: 8, meaning someone eats only 8 hours a day and fasts 16 hours.

Speed Keto takes it even further by recommending meals once a day. Food must be keto approved.

Potential weight loss is the main selling point for most Keto trivia. It has also been shown to reduce the risk of diabetes, heart disease, and cancer, but for other people it can have negative health effects.

We asked two nutritionists to review the Speed Keto protocol for the advantages and disadvantages and to answer the question: Should I use this diet?

What is Speed Keto?

"Speed keto is a means of achieving fast ketosis and was created by Harlan Kilstein, who is not a treatment professional or a nutritionist, but a trainer," said Cynthia Thurlow, NP, who specializes in nutrition and occasional fasting .

The Speed Keto program is similar to the conventional Keto diet in that it requires people to eat a high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet.

Similarly, it also focuses on keeping the body in ketosis, a metabolic condition that can burn fat instead of glucose for your body's energy. When your body is in ketosis, it is basically a fat burning machine, hence the reputation of ketosis as a weight loss tool.

The difference with Speed Keto? You can eat only one meal a day. The diet should follow traditional high-fat, low-carb macronutrient keto dietary guidelines.

"The main goal is to try to adapt to fats faster than more conventional ketogenic diets," .

"Fasting can help speed up the process of entering ketosis," explains Tony Castillo, MS, RDN, LDN, nutrition consultant for RSP nutrition.

"If you have less than 50 grams of carbohydrate per day, it usually takes 2-4 days for ketosis to kick in," she continued, adding that what you eat can increase the amount of time it takes for age and activity to enter. ketosis. .

Although you can enter ketosis to burn fat faster in speed keto, it can be confusing to see a lower number on the scale.

“Since traditional diet keto and fast keto focus on [eating] fat, your body will release more water because fats don't like water. This means that the weight you are losing is probably water weight or even muscle weight, not actual fat loss. "

There are downsides to this kind of extreme diet

When you can enter ketosis more quickly, the expert asked Speed Ketos to mention a few downsides.

"Such diet programs are often astronomical and difficult to follow in the long run," said Castillo.

Even following keto protocols when eating with friends can be a challenge. With Speed Cato, dieters face the additional test of eating just one meal a day.

Castillo further noted that the long-term effects of the keto diet and therefore the speed keto are unknown.

It is also important to review your health goals before choosing a program. For example, speed keto and traditional keto diet can make building muscles more difficult.

It gives you temporary symptoms of "keto flu," as you go into ketosis, and you are likely to feel lethargic.

According to Tharlow, speed keto is “not a healthy or sustainable nutritional philosophy” and should be considered if it is in the short term.

"My concern is that most people will take inadequate macros during their feeding period and this may contribute to muscle breakdown, such as cat's abdominis or sarcopenia and stressors to the thyroid, adrenal glands or sex hormones." Thurlow said.

"[This diet] is highly organic, which means we all have different factors that can make it a successful or unsuccessful strategy," he said.

Outside of the Keto protocol, the requirement of one meal a day (OMAD) is not effective for everyone.

Thurlow notes that while some people achieve success at OMAD, "many can't get all their macros in one meal all day, and others are too full and uncomfortable to consume so much food in one meeting."

In addition to the physical effects, the fasting cycle and then a large meal may not be good for some people's mental health.

"When diet programs include occasional fasting, it's important to consider a past eating history, as non-stop fasting may not be ideal for a person to develop bipolar disorder," Castillo said.

If you find that the omega ingredients of non-stop fasting or speed keto work well for you, know that you can also apply it to a more balanced diet.

“Simultaneous fasting can be combined with great success with most nutrition programs, not just keto,” Thurlow said.
